We are looking for an experienced and proactive, UK based 
Senior GIS Analyst

Your Role

Data Collection

 

From multiple sources and using different methodologies, including digitization and machine learning from satellite imagery, identifying and assessing third party and open-source datasets and from data collected in the field.

Data Management 

 

Cleaning, validating and enhancing datasets ready for analysis or publication. Maintaining existing datasets and making sure they stay up to date.

Data Analysis

 

Applying a combination of spatial and statistical processes to conduct analysis that will answer clients’ questions.  You might find the solution needs some innovative and creative thinking as the method might not be clear at the beginning of the task.

Data Presentation

 

Delivering the results of your analysis to clients through a variety of mechanisms including cartographic products, storymaps and on-line geo-enabled portals and dashboards.

Support to the wider team  

 

You will support the non-technical team with advice and guidance as they engage with clients and develop new business.  You will also deliver briefings and presentations and draft white papers to demonstrate our services. This will likely involve the generation of sample products, effort estimates and concepts.

We are looking for a UK based person, with the right to work, who can think on their feet and apply their skills and experience to solve complicated research questions in complex places.

Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager, you will lead GIS projects and be responsible for delivering their outputs.  You will be a confident presenter and competent writer, able to draft project reports

Your Skills

At Alcis, we have a very strong team ethos, so you will be an excellent team player whilst confident to work independently. 

 

Your skills will include:

  • Proficient using the entire ArcGIS suite, particularly ArcPro and Enterprise

  • Proficiency building and publishing ESRI based web-apps including AGOL, dashboards, survey 123

  • Strong analytical skill and proficiency using model builder and geoprocessing tools

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Good time management skills and able to work on multiple projects at once

  • Desirable skills using Python coding

  • Desirable skills using machine learning on imagery

Your Experience

Minimum of 3 years active GIS use, including imagery exploitation
