Richard Brittan is the Managing Director of Alcis, a geographic information services company that enables better understanding of complex environments.
Alcis supports policy makers, donors, Implementing Partners, NGOs and International Organisations to identify effective policies, implement appropriate programmes and create a positive and lasting outcome in fragile and conflict affected states.
Richard has recently overseen the establishment of Alcis subsidiary companies in both the USA and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Richard has extensive field experience in Afghanistan, where he has worked with the UK Government's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Ministry of Defence and Department for International Development designing and implementing data collection, decision support and monitoring and evaluation systems in support of UK and other Government programmes continuously since 2002.
Current areas of development cover enhanced effects based targeting and multi criteria decision analysis as well as sophisticated online geospatial environments.
His previous work as an analyst at the UK's Ministry of Defence, an IT project Manager and service in the British Army contributes to the approaches and techniques he continues to develop in support of client requirements.
