Al Hakan
GIS Consultant
Alcis' youngest member of the team is an enthusiastic GIS expert who is certainly old before his time when it comes to geospatial analysis.
A post-graduate of Cranfield University with an MSc in Geographical Information Management, Al brings web development skills as well as knowledge of programming and spatial data analysis to his mapping work.
A dedicated Flight Sergeant for the Air Cadets, Al is responsible for up to fifty air cadets and regularly leads expeditions all over the world.
Al has previously been presented with the Duke of Edinburgh award for his volunteer work and not one to stop there; he is currently training to be a mountain leader.
In December 2012, Al went to Kabul, Afghanistan to teach Afghan's in applying remote sensing techniques when working on Agricultural programmes.
Al is currently in Helmand, providing support to the HPRT by tracking poppy reduction and training Afghan's in using GIS to monitor and evaluate the programme using Alcis' tractor tracking tool.
