Agriculture
Our work with agricultural programmes includes crop modelling and hyper-spectral analysis to determine which crops are best suited to the terrain as well as appraising the density and health of plant life.

Crop modelling
GIS can be used to produce crop suitability maps for the evaluation of regions for crops. This process is achieved by overlaying various factors that affect crops including soil types, temperature, rainfall and slope.

Land Lease & Management One Stop Window
Alcis developed a set of procedures and standards to identify, map, characterize and register government lands for the Afghanistan Land Authority.

Helmand Case Study
We mapped Helmand's crop growth, security incidents and farmer activity from 2009 to 2011 which when combined with ground-based research amounted to a report of unprecedented depth and insight that made a significant impact at the highest levels.

LIFC-A (Land Intelligence Fusion Centre - Afghanistan)
We supplied an expert who delivered a briefing to senior commanders on the rural environment. This enabled a better understanding of environmental subtleties taking place in Helmand province.

IDEA-NEW
Alcis delivered key data that helped prioritise and shape future programmes for IDEA-NEW (Incentives Driving Economic Alternatives – North, East and West).
