This week saw over 1000 delegates from the UK and Ireland descend onto the capital for the Esri Annual Conference 2013.

After the hosts took us through the evolution of their software to date, it was a chance to network with like-minded GIS professionals working in the Geospatial arena.
At Alcis, we are big believers in the value of sharing knowledge and we were on hand to meet with some of the brightest sparks in the GIS industry.
The developers this year were particularly enthusiastic about cloud GIS and how this has revolutionised the way in which we manage data and serve it via online mapping applications such as Alcis GeoExplorer.

Towards the end of the day, after the main technical content had been displayed, there was a truly inspirational and frankly emotional presentation by two British military personnel who had suffered life changing injuries on the battle fields of Iraq and Afghanistan.
These bonkers folk are going to race to the south pole against teams from the US, Australian and Canadian military where all team members have been physically effected by conflict. Read more here and show your support at http://walkingwiththewounded.org.uk/southpole2013/
Até a próxima!
